                       Mediator Apprenticeship Program
                                               a comprehensive 3-part
                               mediator professional development curriculum

You won't want to miss this chance to participate in this unique opportunity to:

   -  learn about the principles and basic skills of mediation at the beginner level

   -  advance your mediation skills at the intermediate level

   -  master your mediation skills at the advanced level

The field of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) is rapidly growing throughout all areas of business. Whether one's career is in health care, human resources, law, government, education, non-profit community service, management, or entrepreneurship, there are innumerable ways of incorporating ADR principles and techniques into daily practices to improve interpersonal relationships and enhance productivity.

The New York State Dispute Resolution Association (NYSDRA) is planning to launch its NYSDRA Mediator Certification Program in 2008. NYSDRA anticipates being the first professional statewide membership organization to offer competency-based "Certified Mediator" credentials to all ADR practitioners, regardless of their area of specialty.  (Find out more by going to www.nysdra.org)   Once mediators have a reputable statewide professional organization to attest to their adherence to established ADR principles, uniform practices and ethical standards, and to validate their ability to mediate disputes at a level that meets a rigorous, comprehensive matrix of standardized competencies, those who achieve NYSDRA Certified Mediator status will have a decided edge over those who do not.

ADDENDA Solutions: Academy of Dispute Resolution Studies, in collaboration with AEDU-Tech Systems of Rochester, New York, and Child and Family Services Center for Resolution and Justice of Buffalo, New York, is offering a comprehensive, three-component mediator apprenticeship to provide a means for ADR practitioners to meet the NYSDRA mediator certification standards. This apprenticeship is versatile enough to meet the needs of matriculated students, as well as the needs of professionals in criminal justice, social work, health care, education, human resource, law, management and entrepreneurship.

The teaching format will be highly interactive with multiple opportunities for participants to share their perspectives, gain new information and practice their skills through experiential learning.
